In the early part of the voyage, Corina IV will stop at Ile-a-Vache, Haiti, where they will donate used snorkeling equipment collected in St. Martin to the local community. As part of the Second Life Sails project, they will also deliver used sails to the local fishermen. The fishermen will re-cut the sails and use them to replace the patched and threadbare rags on their engineless boats.
Days at sea will change the young sailors forever and they will learn who they really are. The ocean can be a cruel master and some of the things they will find out about themselves, they won’t like. The ocean is there to be sailed upon, it never changes; it is how it changes us that counts.
